branded indoor theme park, marking the inaugural flight of Batman: Knight Flight, inspired by DC’s iconic Super Hero. World™ Abu Dhabi, the world’s first-ever Warner Bros. Bedrock, meanwhile, will be filled with prehistoric birds and dinosaurs just like in The Flinstones.Abu Dhabi: The Bat-Signal shone bright this week in Gotham City at Warner Bros. These two areas join additional environments based off popular WB cartoons, including a recreation of ‘The Flintstones” Bedrock.Ĭartoon Junction will bring together Bugs Bunny and Scooby-Doo among others under a stylized cartoon sky, and Dynamite Gulch will take attendees to the stars and deep into the canyon. Predictably, Metropolis will be composed of gleaming skyscrapers, while Gotham City will feature dark alleys. “Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi will be a state-of-the-art themed experience that authentically brings some of the studio’s most iconic characters and stories to life under one roof for the first time in the Middle East.” Meanwhile, Warner Bros Consumer Products president Pam Lifford said: “Miral is proud to confirm that one year after announcing its plans to bring Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi to Yas Island, we’re making great progress with our partners where we’re 60% complete and on track to launch in 2018.” Miral CEO Mohamed Abdullah Al Zaabi stated: The park is a joint venture between WB and Abu Dabi’s Miral, who announced that the park is 60% complete and is expected to open in 2018. It will be located on the man-made Yas Island, near the city’s airport. Unfortunately, it won’t be in the United States. The park will feature sections devoted to Batman’s home turf Gotham City and Superman’s stomping grounds, Metropolis, which as you can see above, features an actual replica of the Hall of Justice. The good news is that Warner Brothers is actually building a $1 billion theme park devoted to its iconic characters, including the DC Comics line of heroes and villains.
